Hi,
Welcome to my website which seems to be forever under construction. I describe myself as being spilt. One aspect of my life is disciplined and systemic which is best observed when I am following my geological training. The other aspect is artistic which I hope you can see in some of my images. Spanning these two is my climbing and mountaineering (which requires a little of both). In this field I have been very active since the age of eight and owe thanks to my father.
As a photographer I am young but well travelled. It began as a bolt on to my climbing and has since grown fingers and evolved wings. I now shoot heavily with a Nikon F3 which is wildly regarded as one of the most accurate and robust 35 mm SLR?s available (even by modern standards). I have an ever growing arsenal of good glass including a fisheye and an f/2.8 300 mm. All my glass is prime and although I favour smaller apertures when in the field I have a growing appreciation for faster glass. I favour vibrant films such as Kodak Portra 160VC for interior work and Fujifilm Pro 160 C for landscape as I am sucker for deep blues.
I am slowly moving into the world of large format with the addition of a 5 x 7 field camera into my collection (rare format these days) and am building my own 3d projection system for a climbing trip in planning. I have at my disposal a, fully working, home built dark room where I can manipulate Black and White up to 10 x 8.
I hope you enjoy my collections, You can
email me here if you wish.
